Review of Nylon and Turtle by Sergi Boal, Acustronica

If this release of Acustronica had been produces in a lp or cd format it would have remained glued to the 'flat' of my record player for different weeks, being entirely distributed in digital mp3 I just satisfy myself listen to it frequently on my mp3 reader.
Sergi Boal is a guitarist from Barcellona, born in 1977, here to his record debut, with evident serious studies of classical guitar and a clear taste for improvisation. Two things that it practices well in this Nylon and Turtle produced by the Italian Acustronica netlabel, label on line of which I am exploring with always great conviction and pleasure the catalog  distributed from its website: http://www.acustronica.com.
To listen to this record has made me return in mind an underestimated Brazilian guitarist named Bola Sete. He was an exceptional guitarist that in the Sixties had produced a handful of album, some reprinted rather recently among which his exceptional Ocean Memories. Like Sete, Sergi Boal succeeds in conjugating a very beautiful taste for free and torrential improvisation that characterized the music of John Fahey and Robbie Basho, with the jazz, the bossa nova and the classical music, realizing an exceptional release.
If Sergi Boal reads this critique I would want to propose him a production for our netlabel AlchEmistica, we wait for him.
